I just got a new Mac (with Lion) and am setting everything up, but I am stuck on this SVN certificate trust error for my repositories on Assembla.

The most common solution seems to be to move to Terminal and perform some svn operation on my working copy there, then respond to permanently trust the certificate when prompted. With the Terminal, I never get a certificate trust prompt!

In that case you need to find out, what user and group is this process running under.

✔ SVN 1.5.1 ✔ UBUNTU 9.10 ✔ most subversion versions ✔ most Linux distros ✔ likely will also work under other OS’s 💡 REMARK If you have your problems for the different reason, this howto probably won’t help you.

mbp:~ user$ svn co https://svn.mysite.com/svn/testrepo Error validating server certificate for 'https://svn.mysite.com:443': - The certificate is not issued by a trusted authority.

The basic problem is - the external DNS doesn't work with https. Opening the addresses in safari and adding as trusted solves this problem! R)eject, accept (t)emporarily or accept (p)ermanently? Worked for me too, but since the certificate was renewed, I had to delete an old stored information from the ~/.subversion/auth/server/ directory. Each time you try some SVN command, you get “Error validating server certificate” problem with subversion. Then you type your credentials and get to choose if you want to add your certificate permanently. This also works when I specify the internal address. The issue is when I use the repository dns - XCode shows a red dot with "Host Unreachable".
